THE LOONIE MISSION

Take every Canadian business online.
One loonie at a time.

A professional website should be basic business infrastructure - not a luxury purchase, a giant invoice or a technical project an owner has to manage.

OUR MISSION

Make a credible, managed website accessible to every Canadian small business for as little as one loonie a day.

THE DIGITAL GAP IS STILL REAL

Canada is online.
Not every Canadian business is.

We use public Canadian data because this mission should be built on reality, not marketing theatre.
≈22%

without a company website

Statistics Canada data for 2023 indicate roughly 78% of Canadian businesses with five or more employees had a company website - leaving about one in five without one.

Statistics Canada
26.5%

website gap in Northern Ontario

FedNor's summary of Statistics Canada's 2023 SME survey reports company websites among 73.5% of Northern Ontario SMEs - meaning more than one-quarter did not report one.

FedNor / Statistics Canada
32%

received e-commerce orders

Only about one in three Canadian businesses reported receiving e-commerce orders in 2023, showing how much room remains for stronger digital commerce.

Statistics Canada
$347B

in Canadian e-commerce sales

Canadian businesses generated approximately $347 billion in e-commerce sales in 2023. The opportunity online is not theoretical - it is already enormous.

Percentages marked with ≈ are rounded. The ≈22% figure is the complement of the roughly 78% company-website adoption reported in Statistics Canada's 2023 web-presence data. The 26.5% Northern Ontario figure is the complement of the 73.5% company-website rate reported by FedNor from Statistics Canada's 2023 SME survey.

$1

WHY A LOONIE?

Because the price of getting online should feel smaller than the cost of staying invisible.

A small business owner should not have to choose between looking legitimate online and protecting cash flow. They should not need to learn hosting, DNS, SSL, responsive design, forms, analytics and website maintenance just to have a professional place customers can find.

So we built the model backwards from the barrier: reduce the upfront cost, remove the technical burden, keep the website managed after launch, and make the entry point memorable enough to fit on a coin.

WHAT THE MISSION MEANS IN PRACTICE

Not cheaper websites.
A simpler way to own one.

01

Remove the upfront wall.

Professional website design should not begin with a multi-thousand-dollar invoice that makes a small business postpone going online for another year.

02

Remove the technical wall.

Domain, hosting, SSL, launch and ongoing technical care should feel like one managed service - not five separate problems for the owner.

03

Build for the actual business.

A contractor, salon, restaurant, consultant and home-service company should not receive the same template with a different logo. The website should fit how that business wins customers.

04

Stay after launch.

The mission is not complete when a website goes live. A website that nobody maintains becomes another abandoned business asset. We want someone accountable for it.

THE STANDARD

If we're going to make websites accessible, they still have to be worth having.

DesignIt should look like a real business invested in its presence.
ClarityCustomers should understand what the business does and what to do next.
MobileIt should work where customers actually search: on their phones.
Ownership of the problemThe owner runs the business. We handle the website.
TransparencyClear pricing, clear inclusions and no pretending every business needs every feature.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

We want the sentence
“we don't have a website”
to become rare in Canadian small business.

Not because every business needs a complicated digital strategy.

Because every serious business deserves a credible place online that it can point customers to with confidence.
